FT-IR Microspectroscopy of Rat Ear Cartilage
Rat ear cartilage was studied using Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) microspectroscopy to expand the current knowledge which has been established for relatively more complex cartilage types. Comparison of the FT-IR spectra of the ear cartilage extracellular matrix (ECM) with published data on articular cartilage, collagen II and 4-chondroitin-sulfate standards, as well as of collagen type I-c...
متن کاملA novel ATR FT-IR microspectroscopy technique for surface contamination analysis without interference of the substrate.
Surface contaminants, such as powder and thin film on various solid surfaces, were analyzed by ATR FT-IR microspectroscopy. An ATR accessory consisting of a miniature-Ge IRE with contact area smaller than 50 microm, in diameter was fabricated and employed for a non-destructive characterization. The IRE was pre-aligned and fixed onto a 15x Schwarzschild-Cassegrain infrared objective. Easy maneuv...

Step -scan transient F ourier tran sform infrared (FT-IR ) d ifference sp ectra are often m easured in an ac-coup led con ® guration . The resu lting differential intensity sp ectra con tain both posit ive and negative bands. This condition poses problem s for d irect phase correction by the standard M ertz and Form an methods. Restricting th e calculated phase angle to the range [ 2 p /2, p /2...
متن کاملApplication of doubled-angle phase correction method to time-resolved step-scan FT-IR spectra
Ž . To increase the sensitivity with which time-resolved Fourier transform infrared FT-IR difference spectra are measured, the detector is often AC-coupled. Thus, the measured interferograms correspond to spectra with both positive and negative intensities. The presence of signed intensities presents problems for the standard Mertz and Forman phase correction methods. The Mertz Signed phase cor...
متن کاملFT-Raman Spectra of Saffron (Crocus Stivus L.); A Possible Method for Standardization of Saffron
FT-Raman Spectra of Saffron (crocus sativus L.) with a partial assignment is reported. Based on the Raman data, it is concluded that main pigments in saffron are crocins and crocetin. It is proposed that the quickly attainable FT-Raman spectrum of solid saffron, may be used as a means of saffron standardization.
